I think that this would be a logical conclusion considering the fact that China Unicom has been stating since April that they would have 2m CDMA lines up and running by the end of '99. This was before the US bombing of the Chinese embassy as well as the continued difficulties of Unicom to conduct their IPO. The longer CDMA (IS-95) is delayed, the larger the infrastructure investment China will have in GSM.....thus making an IS-95 rollout even less likely. Unfortunately the same holds true for India which also seems to be continuing their GSM buildout.
