John- this is called "churning" and simple stock manipulation. Analysts are supposed to understand the industry sector, the company and make the right investment advice. There are many long term investors on the Intel thread which have held the stock for many years. They know the company, the industry sector and they know that they can make much more money accumulating the stock. Many analysts try to predict today, or short term moves but they fail to see the big picture. Example look at the news about Intel today. Where do you think the stock is going now ? Anyone can make a stupid comment and cause the stock to fall so they can make money on their short positions. Turnover in a customers account is very bad investment strategy. Intel will continue to go significantly higher.
