RCN is a CLEC run by a guy named David McCourt. He is one smart dude. He is building out a FTTB(fiber to the building) network going after business services on the east coast. He has demonstrated that he can get it done cheap. I would not bet against him. Tim

OT RCNC

Sells phone, cable, and internet (cable modem and dial-up, I think) access. Primarily in New England. I think they focus on cities, apt. buildings, etc. Usual CLEC problems (horrific billing-system problems a couple of years ago, if I remember correctly). I got scared out of the sector last year when the junk bond market froze up and I haven't kept up with the company since then...

EDIT: Also agree w/Tim about McCourt, a real visionary/star.

Investing on momentum is ok, but it's much more sensible if there are some underlying reasons why you like a particular stock. That way if you guess wrong on timing the market, at least you hold shares in a good company that will eventually come back. Most of the time i prefer those type of stocks...
