I agree with you on everything except one. Seagate's stock is not a bargain at the current price. It is about what it's worth based on Seg's business strategy. The reason I said this is because Seg is not going to take the advantage of U series to make profits at this moment. Based on their plan, the main goal for Seg is to drive their competitors into bankrupt with all the advantages Seg currently has. In the next few quarters, the price war will continue, and seg will only try to keep their earning in black in hoping their competitors will run out of cash very soon. However, all Seg competitors will not go away without a good fight. The price war will last for a long time, and that is to say, it will take a long time before Seg's stock price can go higher. Just my thought.

My eMachines 3.2 GB drive is a Seagate Medalist (not the U series). These were some they cleaned out of inventory.

Initially Seagate and Samsung were the two qualified drives for the eMachines.

BTW - I'm real pleased with the eMachines package. Knock on wood - I haven't had any problems with it.
