Well, T, I understand. It took me years though. As a kid, I was used to Irish Wakes, so my first serious one was an Italian Wake. I'll never forget that. My condolences, of course. I guess it's just the Irish in me, but the Irish Wake is somehow celebratory. I was brought up to believe that the departed was going on to a better and more holy place. It was us, the people left behind, stuck on this mortal coil who were in need of succor. I hope that you and the family of your friend take heart in the knowledge that your friend is in the arms of God.
