Al- I agree. Their liability is limited to $50 bucks, basically the same as the credit card companies. I get the feeling that their systems are sufficiently sophisticated to be a fairly good predictor of the running rate of late and/or disputed payments. BTW, in 7-plus years of using Checkfree (through Quicken), I've had about two problems (and I've probably done about a thousand checks, I'd guess). One was my error, and one was a check that posted late to a credit card company. Checkfree had the late fee credited on my next statement by the credit card company, so (in this case, anyway) no hard-dollar cost to CF to make the customer happy... More important, though, was the high level of professionalism and speed with which it was resolved. The fact that it still stands out in my mind today was one of the significant reasons that I became a stockholder shortly after CF's IPO. rk
