Actually we're not in the ocean itself, but in the north Puget Sound (technically it's not that, but that's how people know it). The waters look calm and peaceful, which lulls people. I spent four years in Annapolis, and did some sailing and canoeing on the Severn and down into the Bay, and that water is a lot bigger and rougher than what we have. But ours is just as dangerous.
