ed, I agree with just about everything you said in your post. As you know, I dabble in options, though not very effectively <g>. But they are not the central theme of my investing; they only represent a few percent of my investment capital, and I think the same is true of most of the Gorilla Hunters on this thread.

With regards to your comment you compare intc, msft with qcom....not yet in the same league...caution and prudence as the little ape grows doesn't hurt..., please go back and revisit my post. I didn't mention Qualcomm once. I was emphasizing the point that timing Gorillas isn't necessary, and used my favorite Silverbacks as examples.

We only disagree on one point, ed. Options are derivatives; I contend that their value is dictated by the value of the underlying equity, and that they do not influence that valuation.
