Functions of larger issues - which is what I was addressing. Low inflation, a result of higher productivity and rapid innovation, is what has increased investor and consumer confidence.
Either way, I won't quibble that PE's are out of whack with history, and are more than likely to come back down. But there are two questions that remain unanswered - when (my answer is when innovation and productivity return to historical levels) and by how much (my answer is punitively - unless prices are managed as effectively as they have been)?
