Rude,
As a shareholder I'm not convinced CPQ is working... I have no handle on the absolute numbers but if they are doing so well, why is the market beating them up so badly. If it's all "perception", on e would think that eventually the "value" would shine forth... I agree with El, their PR with shareholders and the general public stinks IN COMPARISON to what they could do by being as prominent, eye-catching, and as thorough in execution as Dell and GTW.

For roughly the same price, and CPQ's was not the best deal, the GTW ZD CPU bench test was almost twice as fast as CPQ's... using the CYrix II cpu. AS an owner of shares I am not happy seeing such dismal performance... that they currently have over 1/2 retail sales is absolutely surprising to me given the lackluster machine they offer for 500-1000 in the review.

I agree with what you purchased for your son... great box! But I think Dell must be very competitive if it's creeping and crawling and about ready to surpass CPQ's retail sale market domination (at least the rate of growth).
