I agree that we should be vigilant about the doings of the FBI et al, Sidney. But in saying that "we live at the beginnings of a nazi-like era police state," I fear that you are not only overstating your case, but undermining the argument for the need for vigilance.

We are a long, long way from a true "police state." And people have a way of pooh-poohing one's concerns when one exaggerates them.

Goodness. Struck a little nerve there?

Well the FBI's history of mistakes is nothing like the mistakes in other countries. I feel deeply for the children- their parents on the other hand had CHOICES, something children of cultists are never given, and their choices were disturbing. Why did Koresh renege on three agreements? I don't know. Why did he have so MUCH ammo? And how do you know that burning out people is an unspoken FBI procedure? Are you part of the FBI? Did an agent tell you this? Because I certainly am not aware of such a procedure (and I THINK you mean protocol- but again, your writing is as unclear as your reasoning). This "wake up call" as you put it, was not worth the lives of those unfortunate children. The government certainly made mistakes but their PARENTS made bigger ones. Those children had several opportunities to leave, and their parents did not let them.

I am sorry for you that you are obviously so emotionally connected to this. It seems an odd thing to get fixated on, but to each his own.
