Is it very hard to believe that this may have been a cherry-picked 800 MHz part? That it didn't need anything more than a standard heat sink and fan? <The demo machine did not have to run 24/7. The demo machine only ran its demo software -- any disclousure here?> I think you're running out of arguments here. Like I said before, Process Boy has much better visibility of Coppermine than anyone else here. He thinks that Coppermine is very scalable in frequency. If he's right, why is it so hard to believe that Intel can produce any reliable 800 MHz parts, much less a big handful of them for employees to play with? (Lucky them.) Of course, a "big handful" doesn't qualify as enough parts to warrant the release of a new speed grade, but it does mean that 800 MHz demos like these can be done without smoke-n-mirrors. <I predict that AMD will release, and a Tier 1 will announce use of, a 750 MHz Athlon within 48 hours of Intel's CuMine 733.> Not an unreasonable prediction, particularly since it usually takes a month before an AMD release makes it into the hands of everyday people. Petz, you are still caculating in favor of AMD. Well, I could not blame you to do so. I was calculating in favor of Intel, too. The difference between you and I is that I realized that my calculation was totally out-of-the-ball-park, and I stopped.
