You're probably right about "most" people's expectations. That's the market. But once you have done your homework and have a sound rationale for buying and keeping a particular company for the long haul, over blown valuations or expectations shouldn't let you forget the reason for buying in the first place.

Cisco, Microsoft, Intel, Dell have had valuation "problems" for years. Ignoring their franchise over one's innate desire for bargains prevented a lot of people from making a lot of money.

QCOM got a head of itself. No one knew when it would pull back, but stocks do that. The difference is knowing what the fundamentals are saying and remain focused. The analyst said NOTHING new today. NOTHING.

-Jacobs and the Q said last quarter that the handset business was going to be under pressure.
-At some point the Q should probably get out of that commodity business and let the likes of MOT and NOK play that game.
-The fact that MOT and NOK are getting aggressive into the handset/CDMA market is an OUTSTANDING endorsement for Q and will provide excellent additions to their bottom line since the Q will be getting MORE in royalties. Let 'em compete...the Q holds the franchise.
-The China thing has always been a question mark. Not an issue here.

With NOTHING new to say, one wonders why the analyst came out with the comments he made.

What we have are the exiting of the momentum folks who don't have a clue what Q does and do not have the wisdom to hang in there to reap greater gains 6-8 years out. The price of 168 is a bargain IF you are willing to look ahead more than the typical trader...who will NEVER make the big bucks those of us who have been with the Q for several years have and will continue too.

Good Luck
Rick
