It could mean that MSFT is picking a low price on the stock before selling puts. Are they expecting the stock to rise from these levels. They would get better premiums for the put warrant sale if the price is low.
My suspicion is that a settlement could be near in the trial---that would mean a stock movement up. Possibly have other news that pushes the stock up.

Just guessing but if in fact MSFT is selling, i would think they don't see much downside in the stock price---maybe even expect it to move up significantly.

Honestly, i am not sure but we will find out if news comes out of the company. Notice there is silence between the DOJ/MSFT lawyers. No rumors. Hmmm.
