Off topic- need help. Got following note from MBA student of mine;

"In a dinner with an experienced California entrepreneur last week, I heard a new term: wash-out. It appears to have something
to do with when a company fails to achieve success from a round of private funding (when interests in the company are sold to
private investors). From the way he used it, it sounded to me that the company basically told all the current investors their
investment was lost and then the company went to get another group of investors to start over."

Anybody out there ever heard this term before?
Any help would be appreciated.
