Is anyone out there worried that today IBM and yesterday Intel announced they were going after BRCM's market? I bought the stock earlier but wonder if this is a good time to get out. Intel said they intend to sell in the billions of comm chips. BRCM will survive but this two giants could shave its growth.

Dick Whittington is a well known and highly regarded semi industry analyst who was at Soundview Financial until a couple of years ago. He played the buy side for awhile before coming to BOFA last month.

No published reports from him out yet, probably in the next week or so.

And I'm trying to get the scoop on the recent Intel and IBM entries into the networking chip field. Guess it's not a good idea to buy ANYTHING and then go away for two years (in reference to a previous post of mine here).

In the meantime, even though I suspect BRCM will STILL perform extremely well, since most analysts have been gone this week, I stepped to the sidelines until i get better visibility from the company and industry watchers.
