Mark, I have no problem with three day waiting periods for guns, I have no problem with background checks, I don't have a problem with not allowing fully automatic weapons to be readily available, and I am not saying that premarital counseling is a cure all for anything. Just a suggestion that it might help. I know one couple that have at least post poned their marriage after counseling to look a little deeper at why they want to be married. BOTTOM line is until men and women stop being so selfish and self centered, divorce will keep being a problem. Now I guess the next thing you will say to me is that the 50% divorce rate has not caused any damage to our country....... Of course you know my #1 answer to the problem........look to the Creator, Almighty God......He hates divorce..... OK, no one word answer as you wished..:o) dan

Balancing Mr. Silvers. Balancing. My right to pursue my own selfish agenda vis a vis a marriage must be balanced against the harm to the innocent civilians (kids) in the line of fire AND the damage done to those children in pursuing that agenda. JLA

mark silvers, I am responding to your comment because I was involved in the discussion you are referring to. I have no objection to waiting periods to buy guns. And I don't think there should be mandatory pre-marital or parental counseling. People should be responsible for these important events in their own lives. The point I was trying to make is that if people would be more responsible for these things, maybe there would be less problems in these areas. I am an individual, and I do not necessarily agree or disagree with every person I communicate with.
