in pre-agricultural (aka hunter-gatherer) societies, people really didn't work more than a few hours a day. Nor would we have to if we didn't have to pay any taxes. What is tax freedom day now, somewhere in May? Nearly half of our working day goes to pay taxes. Take that burden off of us, and we could also work half time and still enjoy the same net income we do now! (I know, I know, then we wouldn't have paved roads and building inspectors and Presidents playing hanky panky in the White House, or even a White House . . . hey, that pre-agricultural time is sounding better and better!)
