I like the term dual actuators. It seems any actuator which has a fine and coarse positioning capability can take on different names depending on the company or the design details. They are also called micro actuators or two stage or multi-stage actuators. Take your pick.

Sources tell me that we won't see dual actuators until the TPI gets still higher, estimated by some to be mid to end of next year.

As to the leaders... I would surely include HTCH in there but since dual stage actuators are already used in all optical drives like the CD-ROM - DVD-ROM etc., I think a leading edge optical storage technology company would be in there. In that case I would say Seagate has the edge.
