Lee,

Although the overall short-term technicals are still low(lower midrange) for the DOW and SPX, I would be very cautious going long.
The NAZ is in the upper mid-range.

Conventionally it is early to get puts, but I also started another hedge position to the downside with a mutual fund play, and if the market continues up I will add on.

The 3-CROWs is a significant reversal signal, and if the news is negative even slightly, the negativity could be strong.

Basicly, my short-term technicals are close to the mid-range so its in the flip-of-the-coin territory, and the news should set the direction. I do need to stress that currently the bias is to the downside.

I still have the next short-term top near SEPT 13.

Lee:

Do you have a local branch of Waterhouse? I do. If I ever have ANY problems I just call. The hold time at a local branch is MUCH shorter (even acceptable - hehe) than it is on the 800#. In addition to only charging WebBroker fees if the site is causing you problems, the options fee for broker executed option trades is only like 10% higher which is peanuts.

Good luck.

PS. I feel like I died and went to heaven (with Waterhouse) after having over a half dozen accounts with E-trade for the last three or four years - all but two of which had signicant assets. My "full" service broker before that wasn't a hell of a lot better - only more expensive. Further, I have a couple of accounts at Witless Capital and they too make my hair stand on end.

:(

Lee, you should try Preferred Trade for options. They are cheaper and much faster than a web based broker. You do all your trades via a small windows based program which allows routing options trades to the desired options exchange (some options trade on multiple exchanges). You can cancel an order quickly as well. It is lightning fast and only $2 per contract/$20 minimum. They don't have a lot of perks but at least you can trade right.
