You guys have obviously never read JRRTolkein:

"Many folk like to know beforehand what is to be set on the table; but those who have laboured to prepare the feast like to keep their secret; for wonder makes the words of praise louder."

Seriously, after three years of bragging how much smarter G* was than Iridium because we got telecomm companies to pay for the gw's and undertake the marketing and customer service, rather than trying to do it from some centralized UN General Assembly set-up like Iridium did, you ought to be willing to wait a couple of months to let the retailers decide whether this thing is really worth putting their precious brand name behind. And we'll have to expect a little breakage along the way because some retailers will be a little slower on the draw than others. Some may even put links on their distributors list to companies with banner ads for their bankrupt but not out of business competitors!

Jon, a master plan by Loral to acquire more cheap GSTRF stock doesn't seem likely.

We are not really in the dark. We have been told how few handsets are going to be available. We know how few have been ordered by Service Providers. We know the gateways won't be ready for ages. We know the marketers are asleep at the wheel. We saw Zenit go BOOM! We know they are guessing wildly at what price to set the minutes so Globalstar doesn't have engine failure at liftoff, which any pilot or Rocket engineer knows is undesirable. We can see the urls turning customers off as fast as they can click on. We know Ericy won't have handsets ready until late December [and that is unlikely]. We know India and New Zealand went phut when Hyundai packed a sad.

These are not deliberate strategies! Loral does not benefit from any of these. No master plan.

What's amazing is that even with a list like that, this is a great opportunity. The fundamentals are so sound that even with such muckups, profits of at least $8 a share in 3 or 4 years seem quite likely. That's even with the planned lethargic rollout with the constellation not due to fill for 6 years.
