Hi Mephisto,
I have seen implementations of jini and it is indeed wireless. In fact to be wireless was the impedus for Bill Joy who developed it. I was part of a group who spoke to him when it was first introduced. He couldn't stand wiring and unwiring his home entertainment equipment. He used to like to compare different type of imaging devises (cd vs vhs vs beta etc.) and was frustrated by the constant wiring and rewiring. The solution is now known as jini. It works in concert with java.

All the best,
Michael
