You can be sure that the geographic change brings Aber closer to the big shareholders and the new management are people that the big shareholders (funds and institutions) are comfortable with. This appears to be a necessary salvage operation.

As for the dispute between Aber and Winspear, I strongly suspect that Aber's case has/will not be allowed to proceed, as under contract law, the performance and penalty clauses under a joint venture agreement are enforceable. I believe contract law has precedence over other commercial laws and statutes.
