GZ, maybe one would cheer such a thing so we don't do it again - just as we shouldn't have this time(again)IMHO.

regards,
Tom

Yeah, it would be bad if the U.S. economy collapsed. Too bad this never crosses the minds of the people who are trying to drive this market up in the face of all the bad fundamentals. They are holding the U.S. economy hostage and everyone is turning a blind eye.

1987 showed we shouldnt confuse stock market with economy. market crashed but economy kept chugging. what prevented fed from raising rates further last year was fear that it would dampen global recovery. this is no longer an issue. next year Asia will grow, Latin America will recover, Europe will grow, US economy will slow but not collapse. fed has shown it has ability to reverse course if its actions cause grave danger to economy (not stock market)

GZ, will you still be buying around 1230? I think if 1280 (200 d MA) is pierced, market can go much lower because so many eye this as support - and once broken selling will be self fulfilling prophesy - thats what happened in 1987.
