MNI, I would not say that my particular situation is typical of Florida or the US in general. I have worked hard for many years to be "My Own Boss". Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of faith in "Corporate America". I prefer to run my business in a manner that I have found to be the most effective and efficient way possible for me. The buck stops with me. I am responsible for any decisions that are made. And I accept the consequences when I have made a mistake or an error in judgement. But I don't kick myself about it. I realize that I'm only human, and try to learn from my mistakes. I'm also aware of the fact that "With much freedom comes much responsibility".

I also believe that learning is a continual process and I will never know-it-all, in my business and other areas of my life. When a person professes to know-it-all, they have closed their mind and are no longer open to new ideas which could help them continue to grow.

I don't think that the area where I live is exceptionally nice. There are better and worse places to live. The only factor that really makes it nicer for me, is the fact that most of the neighbors are friends and we do look out for each other.

Although I can only speak for myself, I tend to agree with your take on the situation concerning the usage of the term "WASP".

As you know, in the USA, there is separation of church and state. And although this idea is not strictly adhered to, I don't think that religion was a very big factor in the election of JFK.
