Nate, they don't want to understand. What you have here are a group of paranoids who want very badly to believe that they are somehow under attack by the federal government and the "liberals." These people have not only angry, but violent, feelings toward those with whom they disagree. They would like to shoot them, or do other violence to them. Psychologically, however, they cannot justify such violence unless they convince themselves that they are under attack by a government wishing to shoot and kill them. The views you see here are right out of the Timothy McVeigh diaries. McVeigh acted out on them; while people here just post these thoughts. So far.
