..back to bear sentiments..<g>Productivity gains less than previous est./unit labor costs up..

quote.bloomberg.com

Excerpt:

Unit labor costs -- a separate index measuring changes in
worker compensation and productivity - rose at a 4.5 percent
annual rate in the second quarter, previously reported as a 3.8
percent increase. The last such gain was in the first quarter of
1994, the Labor Department said.

Data (i.e., slowing productivity gain + higher costs) may not be viewed favorably by Greenshades and company.

Do 11500 is only 1.5% higher than the August 25
close of Dow 11326.
Is this the sort of stuff for which we should
bring out the marching bands and celebrate?
Now those Dow 36000 forecasts, that is the real
stuff of headlines.
And lets not forget Larry's Dow 50000 forecast
which gets this week's Grandstanding Award for
TV consumption. Anyone for a Dow 100000 forecast?
