Shadow,

You are correct in that I *am* a bored toady.
I was just wondering if you could become an
unofficial market maker by just picking up a
pile of this skunky stock at the bid, and then
letting your electronic broker farm it out at
the ask. However, I remember now that these
OTC stocks have to be done over the phone. Those
spreads just look so juicy that I always wonder
how to take advantage of the situation.

Now that my senses are back, I rember that this
is the same theory that many daytraders operate
under. These guys watch stocks with heavy volume
and a high beta. Since they can see all the orders
as they que up on the screen they can get an idea
of which way the stock might be headed over the
next few minutes and they try to make money off
of those temporary situations. Of course, what
kills the day traders is these guys who come along
and dump or gobble at the market. They send the
price into wild swings which often go against the
day trader. You are correct though, that it is
almost impossible to daytrade a penny unless you
are a broker.
