Europe?s Largest Cable Operator to Launch DTV in November
8/30/99 German telecommunications giant Deutsche Telekom AG says it will begin offering digital services to its cable TV customers starting November 1.

The new programming service, called ?MediaVision," will be offered to Deutsche?s 17.5 million-household cable network and will consists of four separate packages. Kirch Media Group will supply the digital set-tops.

The announcement was accompanied by word that Telekom, which is currently selling off its stakes in its cable network, will, along with its partners, invest up to 1.5 billion marks ($802.1 million) to upgrade the network.
