As someone who has needed a hip replacement for 20 years I agree with your thoughts and know also that the success rate is not great enough in my mind to go thru it.I may not walk a golf course any longer but have made up my mind that some pain is not going to immobilize me.I have the same condition as Bo Jackson, the football-baseball player.I would be very interested in hearing the results of your research on this subject.

OT to Lynn,

According to the news report I heard, a small amount of your cartilage is extracted, sent to a specific lab where it is grown, then sent back to your Doctor / hospital for implantation back into you. In the clinical results to date, the cartilage takes hold and is no different than what you started life with.

This may not yet be an approved medical procedure, so you may need a lot of luck to get selected for a clinical trial.

Wishing you the best,
Ian.
