Merced CPUs have been out of fab only 2 1/2 weeks and already your "experts" are "dissing" the benchmarks !

Heck - do you think Intel has even the appropriate software debugged yet to even DO THE BENCHMARKS ?

You need to go back to EV6789123 land !

I believe Intel has posted somewhere that Merced is expected to have 16 times the floating point performance of a 200MHZ Pentium Pro. I don't recall the source offhand. Since the Pro was non MMX, that's quite respectable, but not fabulous.
