The following is a response, from the YHOO board, to the post here regarding the share overhang issue messages.yahoo.com :

My response to the guy who questioned the share overhang ( I'm not an SI member so I can't post messages):

You're kidding right? I mean just because you had the opportunity to SEE the list of people and companies who own shares you think this represents "overhang". Every sizable company on the market has shareholders with significant shares accumulated. Just because you hold them doesn't mean you are about to sell them....at any price...

I would also add that it's sort of paranoid and a little ridiculous to assume that because TD Waterhouse sold 1 million shares (or any other large holder for that matter) that it represents an opinion on NITE's future business prospects. People (and companies) sell stock for a myriad of reasons, primarily to juice earnings and secondarily to raise cash. I doubt they or anybody in that position is trying to time the market.

NITE's current price is based solely on the overall opinion, right or wrong, that current and future trading volumes cannot be sustained. Until that myth is confirmed or refuted, the shares will hover between $30-$40 dollars.
