NO you are right you are right!!!! I remember.... I had an inheritance in the early 1980's...and I got an 8 year CD at 15%!!!!!A stock broker said "You will be sorry, tying your money up for 8 years" but I said "Well I see your point but 15% in a bank is ok by me"....
And mortgages on houses were 18% interest so noone could afford to buy one!!!!!

P.S. when rates went back down the bank kept writing me "you can take your money out with no penalty for early withdrawal" they did NOT like that rate, later on!!!!
