In a way it is almost sad that we are not like our forbears of centuries ago, who accepted the existence of fairies and trolls and goblins and sprites at face value, and would probably greet a tale such as Neo's with a quizzical "yes...and?" I once read a poem that said something to the effect that they are indeed there, flitting around all over the place, it is only our predisposition not to believe that does not allow us to see what is right in front of our noses. Of course, as a rule, our forbears of centuries ago did not smell too good. Perhaps it is just better this way.
