C'mon johnd, this is getting ridiculous. You could just as easily make an argument that during times of rising rates, the market prefers companies with proven earnings growth. That when future earnings are less certain, stocks like MSFT are where people want to be.

Regardless, don't you think it's odd a few months ago you were telling us all that the stock was going to 120 and now you see high 70's. Your posts are too bearish. I think perhaps more than "several mutual funds" have Softie as a core holding. Remember that the reason for the runup last week had nothing to do with a tracking stock, and everything to do with insider selling pressure slowing, the java appeal ruling, Belluzzo's hiring, and positive stochiastics. Not to mention a more positive Nasdaq and market in general.

Relax a bit and enjoy the ride. I think the only way this stock will see high 70s is if the entire market sells off more than 15% from here.

Currently we are not in a high interest rate and high inflation environment as you pointed in your post.
