Jerome re

Once CYMI reports two or three consecutive quarters where they beat estimates, then its off to the races.

My humble opinion, lets come back to this post in five months, because CYMI then will have beaten estimates for two consecutive quarters, or in eight months after they've beaten it for three consecutive quarters

Report for this quarter should be on October 25. After beating estimates, my closing price prediction on Oct 26 is 49, a new all time high.

Report for next quarter should be on January 24. After beating estimates, my closing price prediction on January 25 is 79.

Report for Q1 2000should be on April 24. After beating estimates, my closing price prediction on April 25 is 108.

Clearly, if they beat estimates for three consecutive quarters, this ship will have already left the dock. At this point, Y2K earnings projections should be $2, and 2001 should be $2.75, on the way up to $3.50.

Lets come back to this post after each of the next three earnings reports and see how close I got.

All IMHO.

Jay

<EDIT> Let's have a contest for closing price after each of the next three earnings reports.

Jerome, Now I understand where you are coming from and your great concern about what the stock is going to do over the coming weeks. You are looking at Cymer from a trader's perspective, while my time frame is much longer. Yeah, I think Cymer could test the $30 support level again before it breaches $40. Do I care? Not really. I hope some astute trader can chime in and tell you what the stock will do. I got very lucky with my last prediction of when the stock would break $30. :-)

Good luck with those options.

RE:I don't see much upside unless earnings improve dramatically.

As Fonzie would say, "Correctamundo!" I'm betting earnings WILL improve dramatically over the next year.
