The Russians are not out of the woods yet and to be ruled by gangsters is not progress. Paranoia works both ways. We are paranoid of government actions and they are paranoid of those who doubt their veracity and adherence to the laws of the land. Who will blink first? Maybe the Koresh incident will become obscure but it would get there a lot quicker if people in power owned up to their mistakes and took the medicine and those that followed had some example to follow other than CYA.

The Russians do not know how to rule themselves and are floundering badly....years of tyranny take its toll..
and for us in the U.S. years of dependency are taking their toll too on thenational character.
It seems to be easy to go from independent to dependent but very diffcult to go back in the other direction.
