KY...give it a rest. Why are you bringing CSCO into an LU/COMS discussion. I would HATE to see LU buy COMS - it would be a poor move and I don't think McGinn would do such a thing. It does not fit LU's business model. The talk about NOK buying COMS makes a lot more sense. You need to mellow...go grab a valium.

Philippines Bears Costs of Idle Lines

03 September 1999

There are 2 million phone customers in the Philippines
who are bearing the cost of maintaining an oversupply
of 4.4 million phone lines, according to Senator
Rodolfo G Biazon.

These idle lines represent non-performing assets,
whose maintenance will represent billions of Pesos of
non-earning investment, according to Biazon.

The number of carriers' phone lines is 6.4 million, of
which 2 million are subscribed to, resulting in 4.4
million being idle, according to Nestor Dacanay, NTC
Deputy Commissioner.

If the idle lines were subscribed to, carriers could
reduce their charges for individual subscribers,
according to Dacanay.

Indonesia: 6.8 million lines. 1.6 million idle. Malaysia Telekom disconnect for lack of payment and the bottom line sffers. Same for South Korea.

Got tell Michael Butcher, the LU president for Asia pacific, to go slowl”y there.

I see from looking back at your last few posts that you don't understand the right way to use a discussion group. It is not ok to call people names, tell them that they are stupid or to call them punks.

When you use this valuable discussion group to get childish and personal it ceases to be a way for people to exchange ideas. I don't know why the SI system mgr has not emailed you yet to explain these simple rules, but if you continue to insult and curse, I will contact SI to complain.
