Heinz,
I will first admit that I am making this stuff up and I don't know enough about how things work to really even speculate, but....

Isn't there a possibility that the market is being held up in anticipation of the return of the "big boys" next week. Kind of like the second string is there to keep things going now, and then next week the first string comes in to handle the real dicey stuff?

the late rally to me was in fact very bearish... it showed that nobody is overly concerned about tomorrow's report. if we would have closed on the lows, i would be VERY worried as it would e likely that everyone that was going to sell would have panicked and sold today.... we have the chance for a MAJOR disappointment tomorrow and to break the 5 yr downtrend line in yields.... DBRSY, the bond ave, and yen says its OVER for dr. bond.

bond should see 6.5 tomorrow. DOW should move to its 200 dma (i figure light vol and holiday will be blamed for the sharp and nasty move.)

Heinz,
Of course the market is manipulated by the big firms, the front runners, the specialists. Wall Street employs a lot of people. A market decline would be bad unless they could control it and make it orderly. You are not paranoid. There absolutely is collusion and cooperation on the Street. Years ago, I observed it close enough to form that conclusion. It's interesting to observe "the ramping". The only thing that may frighten them enough to Sell is significant erosion in the dollar from here. No one believes that we could see a bear market. No one.
>Also, I am seeing rampant real estate appreciation and new home construction in my area now starts at around $500K for the entry level. The real estate market has gotten very pricey. Isn't that inflationary?
