Don,

Brinker's timing model is not a function of past
market tops. However, it is valuable to learn about
past market tops in order to know more about the
extended nature of the topping process.

Those who close there minds to what has happened
in the past are eliminating historical insight
that can add value to the understanding of
the market process both at major tops and major
bottoms.

Great point. I recently read a quote somewhere that said something to the effect of....if you watch the past you are at risk of losing one eye but if you ignore the past you are at risk of losing both eyes.

I agree completely. I just don't think that 1976 is the proper year to focus on, when it comes to market tops or bear markets. January of 1973, or even 1966, were much more significant, IMO. In fact, in the past seven years of listening to Bob, I don't think I've heard him discuss 1976 once. Lot's of discussion about 1973/74, the period from 1966 - 1982, etc. Just not 1976.

Best wishes,

I2
