Why people expect some kind of master stroke from these guys any minute now, I don't understand. Because the arrival of the future is holding a gun to their head. Whatever else Bill G. may be, he's not blind. He can't possibly have failed to anticipate something like this. Whether the M$ response will turn out to be a master stroke or a disaster is TBA, but now Bill's own hip-pocket press geeks are wondering about M$' future out loud. How could they just sit with the status quo now that this very explosive first shot has been fired? If what you mean is "checkmate, there's nothing they can do that will save them", I'd love to believe it but I think that it's too early to say. They have a lot of money and a lot of friends. --QS
