Teflon,

how does one fully understand when an ebusiness/Internet company is in a bowling alley or tornado?

Answer that question with regard to gorilla games. It's not as if the book is much help. I've read virtually every reference to the term "tornado" using the index as my starting point. There are no definitive criteria. I'm hoping the v. 2 does a better job of clarifying it.

As an example, I won't bore you with the details but I can promise you that I could easily show that the front office arena has yet to enjoy a documented tornado. Yet Moore says Silicon Valley has already crowned Siebel Systems the gorilla. If gorillas are only produced by tornados, where was the tornado?

My point is that the tornado is not as quantifiable as we would like to believe. That's why I look for the signs of the value chain more than the tornado itself as possibly more significant evidence of an emerging gorilla. Until I've read v.2, I'd rather not comment about how all or any of that might be applied to the eWorld.
