Several years ago, some of my friends from graduate school moved from texas to work there. It was hard for them to pay for a house in the beginning but they did. And now looking back, they made the best investment. I read somewhere that in bay area buyers (for houses) sometimes need to pay up more than 30% above the sellers' asking price to get the offer. All the competition is due to those internut and telecom start-ups which have created tons of millionaires through stock options. Iris
