Yes, The SLA assault was carried out under President Richard Nixon. These things happen when law enforcement agents get "frustrated." Better procedures are needed, but there's no grand conspiracy--only grand stupidity.

I saw a TV special not long ago about it, but I don't want to comment as the differences are very wide , and no way can the attack on the Dividians be compared to the SLA with out confusing to many issues. In short I believe trying to compare them will diminish the focus on the Davidian case, which is undoubtedly the largest miss-carriage of in-justice to hit this country since the time The WWI vets were machine gunned over the bonus dispute, in fact with the children involved I think even the WWI vets would see this as much worse. -------------------------------- Well I just got lucky on some long bets I put down early this week so I got to see if I can squeeze a little profit out of them. Jim PS While the most of the News Media is still using the word "Cult" in it's comments about the Dividian's that is also a huge stretch of the word, and is inflammatory. They were a "SECT" of the Seventh Day Adventists , basically Christian that held to the OLD Sabbath being on Saturday and many of the older Jewish Traditions. David was not the founder, and it's name had nothing to do with his name. I will define "CULT" tonight, and show that the Dividians were not a "cult" and it is irresponsible, inflammatory , demonizing , and viscous to use the word "cult" in describing them. The news media poured a lot of inflammatory and explosive rhetoric on these poor people even before the ATF raid, and after it started the news media fanned the flames in a way to bring out the blood lust in most red necks, Some of the tapes I have show people in WACO cheering as the Tanks rammed the buildings, I was at a hospital when the fire started and saw a young man who was just about ecstatic with as he watched it burn, blood lust written all over his face. He noticed I was watching and saw the look in my eyes and turned his head away from both me and the TV, "he knew I saw it" but he was embarrassed, so I forgave him in my heart and said a prayer for the Children to forgive him. The news media was the cause of bringing so much blood lust to the surface of those who have not confronted the darker side of their own nature, "CULT" should never be used on the Davidians as a grope , because they were not a "cult", but the news media still can't let it go. The term was even barred in the court room by a judge who was most decidedly in favor of the Government, but knew that word didn't fit, nor did the word "compound" , and now they are going on about a buried old school bus being a concrete Bunker, there were NO "bunkers" any where , however inside the building there was a masonry vault made of what was what I use to call cinder blocks, most of the children were found dead inside of it covered with blankets trying to escape the inferno . "Concreat Bunker" add one more lie to the long list of lies that the authorities have been spinning via innuendo's of things which never existed.
