It's not a permanent condition. The problem is there have to be shares to borrow. If they can't borrow them, it is against the law for them to permit their clients to short them. I'm sure that's the problem. Generally speaking, the more professionally oriented firms (day trading brokers like AB Watley) have a better inventory for their short lists. Matt
