Excellent examples Joan, and I may have used one once or twice myself. :-)

I could see how some could be very borderline and up to the perception of the individual though. But I do agree these should be avoided when possible...

Speaking of dialogue and rules. The one thing that personally irritates me is when someone posts your thoughts back to you but in a distorted fashion.

Example...I believe we should cut welfare because it's wasting money and not helping people in far too many cases.

Reply....So it's ok if you starve children you heartless evil person.

That's just an example that I've seen a hundred different variations of. And one I personally dislike and tend to respond very negatively toward. What would you call that type of response? Distorted ad hominem? :-)
