Have you been to an Expo store yet? That's Home Depot's new upscale home store. The one that just opened here has model kitchens that cost maybe $100,000. There are stoves that cost $12,000, even $20,000. A big item is granite for countertops and table tops, $60-$70 a square foot, installed. The parking lot is always full of Lexus, Volvo, Cadillac, Range Rover, Mercedes, and so on. I wouldn't attribute it all to the stock market, but it's clear that people are willing to pay serious, serious bucks to remodel their houses. This is certainly a golden age.
