And the same was said about Intel when AMD managed to get some kind of rights tot he 286 chip and started competeing wiht them. Seems that INTC just retrenched, made sure they were going on thier busines plan, made sure they executed, and continues to pull away from AMD and continue to do good inspite of this. As I remember, those at the time were spouting that this would be the demise of INTC and that they "would be out of business in a year". But then who's to say "they" were right?
