Mohan:
Look what I found about Sindh & Sindhis.
I could not help but compare the trials and tribulations undergone by Sindhis to those of Native Americans. The land was usurped from them.

The only thing going on between 'muslim' sindhis and 'hindu' sindhis is the support that muslims are looking for from hindus, which hindus are confused about.

Many of the still living Hindus survived and remember the atrocities at the hands of the muslims during partition and will never forgive their tormentors. And they dont trust the muslims and believe the only reason these muslims want to join us is to get our support in the name of Sindh.

The younger generation, of course, having not been directly affected by the partition fail to see why one Sindhi would not support another.

Personally I very much enjoyed listening to Sindhi being spoken by the native Sindhis exactly as it has been spoken for hundreds of years. And the singer from Pakistan captured my heart compeletely specially since there is not much Sindhi music in India.

We hold an International Sindhi Sammelan once a year. The muslim Sindhis want to be invited to that Sammelan and be treated as one. the hindus claim that our experience, after having fled Pakiland, is totally different from theirs and we have nothing in common anymore.

Similarly the Muslim Sindhis hold their Sindhi Assoc. of Northern America (SANA) once a year. And they very much want hindus ot participate.

I am for joint participation. My feeling is that the Sindhi follow Sufism (mystic) and believe that love of all men of any relegion is the way to god. And anything to the contrary is to use relegion to gain power and other evil purposes.

sorry for the rambling.
