Tellabs Names Jane Brandt Vice President of SalesFor Multiservice Networking Products

LISLE, Ill., Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Tellabs (Nasdaq: TLAB) today named Jane Brandt as vice president, sales of the company's multiservice networking products. In this role, Brandt will have responsibility for sales and support of Tellabs' data networking and next-generation switching products, which will help carriers build and transition to the new public network.

Brandt joined Tellabs as part of the company's Aug. 30 acquisition of NetCore Systems Inc., a move that enhances Tellabs' strength in delivering carrier-class multiservice networking solutions. At NetCore, Brandt was responsible for worldwide sales, customer service and partnership sales and service channels. Prior to joining NetCore, Brandt was at Cascade Communications, where she led the sales organization that helped establish Cascade Communication's frame relay and ATM business. She also previously held sales and management positions with IBM, Amdahl and Compuserve.

Brandt will report directly to John E. Vaughan, president of Global Sales and Service at Tellabs.

Brandt will help launch Tellabs' data networking and next-generation switching products based on the Everest(TM) switch, which seamlessly integrates IP and ATM handling within the same network element, and the AN2100(R) Gateway Exchange(TM) system, a next-generation switching system that enables service providers to consolidate circuit-switched and variable bit rate data services over a single, broadband network.

"Tellabs is committed to delivering carrier-class multiservice networking solutions that enable operators to deploy a wide range of business services over a number of different protocols," Vaughan said. "Jane and her staff will play a key role in enabling service providers to evolve to next-generation networks."

Tellabs designs, manufactures, markets and services data, voice and video transport, switching/routing systems and network access systems. The company's products are used worldwide by the providers of communications services. Tellabs stock is listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market (TLAB).
